VMware Download Program for University of Iowa

Go to the VMware download site.  The site will ask you to sign in.  Use your HawkID and Password.

Select Student and then Browse by Publisher

Student select browse by pushlisher

From here scroll down and on the left side and find VMware. (it is not in Alphabetical order, so look carefully)

Once you select VMware, you will have multiple choices of software to download from that vendor. Select the software you wish to download.

Select the Platform you wish to install it on and add to cart.


Click on Check Out if things are correct.


Click Download

Click Download


Who Can Use VMware

All students, staff, and faculty in the Engineering College are enrolled at the beginning of each semester.  Students, faculty, and staff can ask to be enrolled at any time.

If you believe that you should be on the eligibility list but are not, please talk to the consultant at the Engineering Help Desk, 1253 SC, 319-335-5055.

How to Access VMware WebStore

Use the VMware WebStore, as noted above. Your HawkID and password to log on to the site.

The software offered is for download only.


Click on the downloaded file to install. You must have administrative rights on the computer on which you want to install the software.

How Long You Can Use Downloaded Software

You may continue to use the software for non-profit purposes under the same license agreement when you are no longer eligible.  You cannot receive new software or updates through the program if you do not qualify as specified above.
